Dear Praying Friends:
Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
As I write this Thanksgiving is past, and it hardly seems possible Christmas is just a month away -- we have had lovely weather --the scenery is beautiful -- it just thrills one to look upon God's handiwork.
Our son, Tom, was home over the holidays and of course Grandma and Grandpa Drooger were here for "turkey day" as the youngsters call it. Each of the children was able to go home for Thanksgiving Day and some for the complete vacation period. This is a highlight for them. Pray that these times in their own homes are times of testimony concerning their Christian training here at Cedar Ridge.
You might like to know that the Yoders have a nice little son -- they are getting along very well. We are all looking forward to new staff members who will have joined us by the time you read this. Their coming here was, we feel, a definite answer to your prayers at Immanuel. It was no accident that they came by to inquire about this work (from Kansas City). Their name, incidentally, is Yoder also, no relation to the other houseparents. Pray for them as they adjust to the children and the children to them. Our present couple will continue as relief houseparents and Mr. Yoder will do carpenter work in the new unit.
Praise too, for the new unit which is under roof and the wiring is completed. Pray it may continue.
We enjoyed a brief time of fellowship with Bill Kinkade as he stopped by recently on his way to South Carolina.
Thanks once again for your prayers, financial support and for writing to us from time to time. May each of you have a blessed holiday season.
Your Ambassadors for Christ,
Jack, Doris and Family
